Introduction to Joinery with Hand Tools

Coming soon: Learn to lay out and cut basic woodworking joints with hand tools. Half laps, mortice and tenon, scarf joints, and dovetails are a few examples. Introduction to the use of hand saws, chisels, and planes, as well as the use of layout tools like combination squares and scribes. We will start by cutting a few simple joints in softwood and progress into more complicated joints in hardwood. In addition to cutting practice joints each student will complete a simple project such as a tool box to take home at the end of the course.
